Hey, everyone. We’re back with another Thursday edition of Sports Jobs.

As I’ve started to fully work for myself as a consultant, one thing I’ve missed the most is managing a team. I love the mentorship aspect of leading a team, but it does not come without its challenges.

If I was leading a team, here are a few things I’d try to do right now:

  • Operate with empathy. There is so much uncertainty out there right now, and the world feels very heavy. Keep in mind that people are balancing their work with so many other things.

  • Educate myself. Consume news, information and resources to then be a resource for others.

  • Cut people some slack. My brain feels a bit foggy sometimes these days. I can imagine it being a time where I might have missed something in my former fast-paced role as a social media manager.

While I approached this from the perspective of a manager, this advice is also important for ICs who are working with clients, coworkers and bosses. We could all operate a bit more selflessly these days.

Now for some bonus jobs below.
