Hey, folks! As Sports Jobs continues to grow, I want to offer some tidbits I’ve picked up throughout my career. So, I’m checking in on a Thursday to say hello, share a few bonus jobs and offer a few tips re: networking on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Networking Tips

1. If you see someone you’d like to follow but have no connection to, considering following them vs. sending a connection request. After you’ve interacted with their posts for a while, they may feel more comfortable accepting the request.

2. Unless you know each other already IRL, add a quick note to your connection request. Something as simple as “I wanted to connect after hearing you speak at XYZ” or “I’d love to connect as I look up to your work in the XYZ industry” can go such a long way.

3. Interact with your connections’ content on LinkedIn. Comments and shares can go such a long way. Networking is not a one-way street, and it’s easy to help support the people who are putting hard work into their LinkedIn content.
